After reading, children can follow the story at home by putting their dummies under their beds, parents can then tell their child that the 'Dummy Fairy' takes them off to Candyfloss lane, leaving a surprise in their place. The exquisite recycled paper we use for our Fairy and Tooth Fairy Letters has the most beautiful gold and silver leaf in it.

Start weaning your child by not offering a dummy when they are in stress-free situations and use only at night the few days leading up to the Dummy Fairy. ADD On - A Dummy Fairy Reciept which you can fill out and add to your baby box along with their other memorable items such as their hospital wrist band.Had lots of tears just before settling when the reality sunk in but focused on her dummy becoming a star and the present from the fairy in the morning. So anyway, I told her and then put the dummies under her pillow, to which she laughed and quickly grabbed them all back up in one handful. A little girl named Amira, is persuaded to give up her dummies due to the thought of getting a surprise from the Dummy Fairy. Bedtime also showed me again how amazingly bright she can be - she asked me to read one of her 15 Dora books, Dora Goes to School, which we've not read since sometime before we went away for our week holiday. Nice story so may help others and worth a try Nice book but we bought it in hope it would help my daughter giving up her dummy but it didn’t ! Was really worried as her baby sister was still using dummies at the time, but she seemed to understand that dummies are for babies.Very sturdy and does not tip over, even though this 12 month old is still wobbly on her feet but she loves pushing it (usually into things) with all her soft toys in it.

I do think care should be taken to ensure the child realises they can't keep (and in turn get attached to) the Dummy Fairy afterwards - she should be an elusive character much the same as Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy - there to do a job but then off to guide other little boys and girls through their dummy rehab. So we told her the fairy took them away when she woke up and would bring them back for bedtime as long as she was a 'very good girl' its worked a treat, though I have been toying with the idea of telling her they are going with the fairies permenantly soon and I'm so relieved to hear some positive stories. The book uses a fun and imaginative story to teach children why it makes sense to give up dummies, and it also offers up some fun ideas to stop them missing them once they've gone. Children love that they can see Daisy and her Fairy friends, learn about her favourite food and even see what happens to the dummies after she collects them. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

So anyhow I ended up showing the SALT a short video clip of Sasha on the phone to my mum, babbling away quite happily, which was about all she saw of her and so she has concluded she has a problem with 'T' and 'D'. There are some good things about this book but a lots of things I don't like about this book, some of them practical, some of them personal (and arguably subjective).

We didnt use a dummy fairy, DD was 23 months when we got rid of the dummy so she wldnt really understand it, but (she came off dummy in July) i didnt want to wait till xmas as felt it was too far away. I really like the idea of encouraging the child to leave the dummy with the Dummy Fairy during the day - we tried a similar strategy with our little one: his dummy stayed on the bed with his comforter ‘Miss Ellie’ and apart from days when he was poorly or feeling a little clingy, we generally had no problem with this.
