Apart from a conventional squeeze trigger in the handle the tool incorporates a lock/unlock button at the rear of the motor housing (see sequential and bump mode photo above). We've also got an older Axminster (air) 23ga nailer which has been great, but the last guy I know who bought one said the nail clip flew open everytime he shot a pin! Pity dewalt chose to do an angle only unit when 90% of site users have a straight nailer and that's all the sites supply in terms of nails. The following are trademarks for one or more DEWALT power tools, accessories, anchors and concrete adhesives: The yellow and black color scheme; the “D”-shaped air intake grill; the array of pyramids on the handgrip; the kit box configuration; and the array of lozenge-shaped humps on the surface of the tool.

Straight out of the box the DCN692 would sink a nail to just below the surface but it wouldn't punch it 3 to 4mm under like most gas nailers can. I finally bit the bullet and bought the DeWalt unit and it has been a completely different experience. and the case is certainly smaller than the cases of either of those tools, a plus if space in the van is limited.Change country: -Select- Afghanistan Albania Algeria Andorra Angola Anguilla Antigua and Barbuda Argentina Armenia Aruba Australia Austria Azerbaijan Republic Bahamas Bahrain Bangladesh Belarus Belgium Belize Benin Bermuda Bhutan Bolivia Bosnia and Herzegovina Botswana Brazil British Virgin Islands Brunei Darussalam Bulgaria Burkina Faso Burundi Cambodia Cameroon Canada Cape Verde Islands Cayman Islands Central African Republic Chad Chile China Colombia Costa Rica Cyprus Czech Republic Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Democratic Republic of the Congo Denmark Djibouti Dominica Dominican Republic Ecuador Egypt El Salvador Equatorial Guinea Eritrea Estonia Ethiopia Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) Fiji Finland France Gabon Republic Gambia Georgia Germany Ghana Gibraltar Greece Greenland Grenada Guatemala Guernsey Guinea Guinea-Bissau Guyana Haiti Honduras Hong Kong Hungary Iceland India Indonesia Ireland Italy Jamaica Japan Jersey Jordan Kazakhstan Kenya Kiribati Kuwait Kyrgyzstan Laos Latvia Lebanon Lesotho Liberia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Macau Macedonia Madagascar Malawi Malaysia Maldives Mali Malta Mauritania Mauritius Mexico Moldova Monaco Mongolia Montenegro Montserrat Morocco Mozambique Namibia Nauru Nepal Netherlands Netherlands Antilles New Zealand Nicaragua Niger Nigeria Norway Oman Pakistan Panama Papua New Guinea Paraguay Peru Philippines Poland Portugal Puerto Rico Qatar Republic of Croatia Republic of the Congo Romania Rwanda Saint Helena Saint Kitts-Nevis Saint Lucia Saint Pierre and Miquelon Saint Vincent and the Grenadines San Marino Saudi Arabia Senegal Serbia Seychelles Sierra Leone Singapore Slovakia Slovenia Solomon Islands South Africa South Korea Spain Sri Lanka Suriname Swaziland Sweden Switzerland Taiwan Tajikistan Tanzania Thailand Togo Tonga Trinidad and Tobago Tunisia Turkey Turkmenistan Turks and Caicos Islands Uganda United Arab Emirates United Kingdom United States Uruguay Uzbekistan Vanuatu Vatican City State Vietnam Virgin Islands (U. It was surprising to me that this tool can fire a nail, like a gun fires a bullet, through the air and not have a prerequisite for firing to first have the no-mar tip nosepiece being compressed against the workpiece. Have I added that some manufacturers also seem to source their batteries, chargers and plug top transformers from a factory making novelty cracker fillings somewhere in central China?

The tool will really and truly bump fire, even 90mm nails (despite DW advising otherwise) but getting it to properly sink nail heads may take a little practice – it operates in a different way to gas nailers and that can take some adjustment on the part of the operator. In fact the only aspect of this gun I still dislike is the weight – but even there I've learned to live with it. When nails are loaded there is a window in the magazine that permits visual observation of the nails. The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

The “running in” period is deWalt's term for the bedding period (between 500 and 1,000 nails) during which period the tool was indeed a bit tight and sometimes wouldn't flush longer nails completely.
