A series of interview questions put to the late, great Bob Proctor - one of the all time classic self help gurus. Primarily, shifting one’s paradigm to define success; it may not be money or status based but focused on what brings you purpose and happiness (although, that is contradictory to other statements, found elsewhere in the book about how easy it should be to select goals and focus efforts towards earning lots of money). Change Your Paradigm Change Your Life’ is an interview style book between interviewer Dan Strutzel, and interviewee Bob Proctor, a high-school dropout turned millionaire who is also a motivational speaker and author of bestselling books.

Bob offers simple, practical tips on HOW to meditate, how to apply small changes on a day by day basis, and how to stay motivated through the process of changing your paradigm (world/life/personal view). It introduces interesting concepts on how our internal cybernetics can hinder progress and the idea that our mental paradigms were mostly projected onto us through generations of people who also didn’t have their lives perfectly figured out.For example, the best thing that came out of reading this book was learning about Earl Nightingale’s Magic Word recording.

a person who understands consciousness and a bit of metaphysics would greatly benefit from this one. I was thankfully able to pull out some nuggets from this book but I feel like the good parts were only enough to make maybe one total chapter. This book was interesting as it contains a few nuggets: The concept of vibrating at the level of your goal is really interesting, reading one book over and over (while reading other books), setting your intention, starting with the end in mind/ visualizing the outcome. The book's focus is that our lives rotate around our paradigm(s) and so, by changing our paradigm(s) we can change our lives. I think parents and families can and should have some responsibility to teach, but I guess it might be good to have some of the things he talked about in public education since some families aren’t in a place to teach their children how to discover who they are and other things he discusses.

In this book, Proctor explores the power of shifting one's mindset and paradigms to achieve greater success and fulfillment. This book gave me an exciting and refreshing new energy to study how I view the world and the self i creat within it. However, I don’t like guru, the « do exactly what I will tell you », nor the fact that he does not recognize that our society has many bias towards minorities and women. One main principle of changing one’s paradigm is that perspective is subjective and CAN be transformed by practicing the methods in this book. A short but inspiring book that has the potential of helping people change their lives if they wish so.

Your paradigms may be masked in complacency, fear, worry, anxiety, insecurities, self-doubt, mental hurry, and self-loathing - the result is keeping you stuck. When listening I would highly suggest note taking as there are many applicable methods for all life situations. These are principles that God baked into the universe, and they are impartial; anyone, regardless of their religious persuasion, can tap into them and make them work. I've read a lot of self-help books and have studied scripture from a charismatic perspective for a good decade now, but this really brought it all together. I highly recommend, in fact, implore you to get this book as its dynamite for the mind, body and soul!
