The dual narration of the chapters is PERFECT for this book, and the voice actors (artists- sorry I’ve never received an audiobook before) were spot on. They used to go to highschool together 8 years ago, her two years younger than him, a music nerd-band kid, him a popular hockey kid! Pippa has spent her years since finishing school touring with her high school sweetheart Zach and his band, but after she is dumped at the airport and given a plane ticket home, she finds herself broke and lonely, forced to crash with her sister.

When he finds out my ex was terrible in bed, his competitive nature flares, and he encourages and spoils me in every way. I really could not get enough of Pippa and Jamie, this book quickly became one of my favourites and I can’t wait to read the next book, which I gratefully received as an ARC. Pippa is an aspiring musician who travelled with her musician boyfriend who gaslit her and broke her self-confidence in her talent. I adored Jamie, he was such an amazing support to Pippa to make sure she begins to believe in herself again. The big publishers usually err on the less spicy side but I'm really, really happy this book had some spice! The characters were so well build, their chemistry was there from page one and you could really understand why they acted like they acted. plus i also want to give myself a break and not force reviews on books where i actually don’t have that much to say, because those reviews don't make me happy and most of it is just words and i'm just trying to fill out the review, but you’ll no longer be seeing me do that. Stephanie Archer is a master of creating a balance of pining, passion and This is a forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine romance that is absolutely delectable. jamie was such a great love interest - i was hooked from the second we got his pov and realized he wasn't grumpy, but rather currently melting into a puddle - and i really enjoyed seeing pippa's development through the story. The grumpy x sunshine from the beginning finally turned into sunshine on more sunshine and I am so here for it.

Same soft, musical voice that I’d strain to hear back in high school while she was talking and laughing with the other band kids.I thought I was popping in for a quick cheeky read, but this is a full-bodied, pining, everlasting romance. i did enjoy this because all i needed was a hockey romance with a little spice and spice i definitely got, but if you’re looking for something more and deeper than that this book won’t satisfy you, but i’d still recommend if you’re in the mood for a cute, spicy, easy read. I am so happy that Pippa got the happy ending she deserved and that was her true revenge against him.

there were so many times where i had to read over some of the scenes because i couldn’t believe my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised to find there was no third-act breakup, but that's probably because it took all that time to get together so by the time they were together there were only 50 pages of the book left. looking for a quick and easy (and dirty, jesus) entry into the hockey romance craze, Behind the Net isn’t a bad way to spend an afternoon. the characters where adorable together and there's something about a hockey romance that's just inherently comforting. Said tension leads to lots of unspoken feelings, cute dogs, bad ex-boyfriends, and a scene involving a sex toy that will have you needing a cold shower. In the follow-up to Behind the Net, Pippa’s sister Hazel, one of the hockey team’s physical therapists, agrees to pretend to be the girlfriend of the Storm’s extremely sought-after captain, Rory, when her emotionally manipulative, cheating ex-boyfriend shows up at the arena as the team’s newest recruit. Between wearing his jersey at games, rowdy parties with the team, and being brave on stage again, I’m falling for him. Alas, the publishing industry’s insistence on marketing smutty rom-com books with YA-looking artwork continues, and the first two books in Archer’s new ‘Vancouver Storm’ series are no different: Behind the Net, a grumpy-sunshine love story between a star hockey goalie and his assistant; and its sequel, The Fake Out, with a fake dating scenario between another player and the hockey team’s physical therapist.

Jamie is a goalie for the Vancouver Storm, he has recently been signed by them to be closer to his mom, who has panic attacks.

imagine you're lowkey destitute so your sister is able to swing you a job as an assistant to a pro hockey player. Jamie, also stepping way out of his comfort zone, letting Pippa in and opening his life to her was such amazing character development. He invites her to stay at his residence so that she could assist him with tasks since so much of his time preparing and training for the upcoming hockey season. She snatches up the first opportunity available to work for the Hockey team that could lead to a full-time position. Pippa finds herself working as a personal assistant to Jamie Streicher a famous hockey goalie who she went to high.
